Decarcerate Now! NC is a broad coalition of North Carolinians calling for justice, fairness, and second chances for people incarcerated in our state prisons, especially Black people and other people of color.
On November 4, 2020, we began a digital campaign highlighting and addressing mass incarceration and state prison safety during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this campaign, we aimed to provide a public, high-profile platform to uplift the needs, voices, and calls for help from mostly Black, incarcerated North Carolinians.
